Q: How do you install window films?

A:  Our courteous and professional installers will arrive as scheduled at your home with their supplies and apply the film with a nontoxic slip solution to the inside of your windows.  Films will be custom cut at your home in ensure a perfect fit.  We do ask that the homeowner makes sure that all furniture is removed from the window area and that the area is free of dust and pet hair.

Q: Could window films cause my windows to break?

A: Windows break due to various types of stress.  While window films do affect the thermal stress of a window, there are strict industry application guidelines that when adhered to properly all but eliminate this risk.   Window films that are properly selected and installed should not cause your windows to break.

Q: Can window films be removed?

A: Window films are considered a semi permanent renovation to your home.  A professional window film provider can use a special process to remove the films

Q: Do window films come with a warranty?

A: Yes.  Window films are back by manufacture warranties with a few exceptions such as skylights, extremely large windows and bullet proof windows.  We would be happy to check on the warranty availability for your specific needs.

Q: How long will window films last?

A:  Window film life span varies based on the unique conditions of your home’s environment and the specifics of your installation.  There have been documented cases of window films lasting up to 20 years.

Q: How much can window films save me on my utility bill?

A: Typically homeowners can expect to see a 18%-30% savings on their utility bill.

Q: Is there a tax credit for residential window film?

A: Yes!!!  You can receive up to a $1500 tax credit on select residential window films. This tax credit is for the cost of the solar control window film, and does not include labor cost.

Q:  Will window films prevent the fading of my interior furnishings?

A:  While window films will significantly reduce the fading of interior furnishings, no product will completely eliminate fading.

Q: Will window films affect my house plants?

A: In most cases house plants that already receive adequate light in their current environment will not be affected by the window films.  It may, however, take a few days for some house plants to adjust to the altered environment.

Q: Will my windows films have to be dark to be effective?

A: No.  With new technologies and variety of colors and shades we can find a window film that protects your home from heat and UV rays while still giving your home the comfortable look you enjoy.
